There are actually many things that are the same. To mention a few:
They both believe in Jesus. They both believe in God. They both belive in the Holy Spirit.
They both believe in the Bible. They believe in the ten Commandments. They believe in strong families.

Both believe in God who created the earth and loves his people. They also both believe that Christ came to earth to atone for our sins and to die for us and be resurrected, so we can be resurrected as well.
However, the LDS church believes in modern revelation, the restored priesthood, and that Christ truly is the Son of God, as opposed to the Trinity.
The LDS church also teaches more clearly about the pre-earth life and the aterlife.

I'm sure hoping that the answer to this isn't "they're both false religions which have traded in the Gospel for human works." Cause that's the wrong answer.
