Do you think that the angels will be involved in the destruction at Armageddon? What does (Matthew 24:21-22) 21 for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. 22 In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.
Is it the angels that save people from destruction?

In times past they carried out divine judgements. When their nation was attacked by Assyrian soldiers God sent an angel to fight for them.

(2 Kings 19:32-35) 32 “‘That is why this is what Jehovah has said concerning the king of As·syr´i·a: “He will not come into this city nor will he shoot an arrow there nor confront it with a shield nor cast up a siege rampart against it. 33 By the way by which he proceeded to come, he will return, and into this city he will not come, is the utterance of Jehovah. 34 And I shall certainly defend this city to save it for my own sake and for the sake of David my servant.”’” 35 And it came about on that night that the angel of the Lord proceeded to go out and strike down a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the camp of the As·syr´i·ans. . .
When they got up in the morning all they could see was dead carcasses. So mankinds army is nothing compared to God's army.

The bible says that angels will serve as God's executioners in the near future. the bible points to a time when Jesus will come with his powerful angels in a flaming fire.

(2 Thessalonians 1:6-8) 6 This takes into account that it is righteous on God’s part to repay tribulation to those who make tribulation for YOU, 7 but, to YOU who suffer tribulation, relief along with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels 8 in a flaming fire, as he brings vengeance upon those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus.

No it is God. The angels will have there hands full though carrying out the whole seven years of tribulation. Although strangely God will also use a demon or two.

I predict angels at Armageddon will do exactly what they've always done--absolutely nothing. But then Armageddon won't happen either, so I'm not sure if I understand the point in this question.

Or were you referring to the Anaheim Angels? I don't know, are they any good this year?

No, because that war is not to destroy the chosen ones that you mention.
It is to destroy the wicked as it says in Psalms 37:9,10,11
the bible says that Jesus goes forth with his angels to destroy the wicked people.
So this final battle mentioned in Revelation 16 between God and men is probably what your talking about.

They will enlighten people and remind them that angels were invented by the Mesopotamians and the idea was later borrowed by Jews and Christians.
