It doesn't. It mentions the assembly. The assembly is, in some ways, a carry over from the Jewish synagogue assembly. From the beginning of the church, members gathered together (Acts 2:42-47). Often it was in homes. Sometimes it was in a public building such as the synagogue or a school (Acts 19:9-10)

Try Hebrews 10:24 Let us consider how we can stir up one another to love. Let us help one another to do good works. 25 Let us not give up meeting together. Some are in the habit of doing this. Instead, let us cheer each other up with words of hope. Let us do it all the more as you see the day coming when Christ will return.
The author here was countering a faction that had already begun to minimize the importance of sharing with one another. From the beginning this was an important facet of Christian life.
Acts 2:42 The believers studied what the apostles taught. They shared life together. They broke bread and ate together. And they prayed. 43 Everyone felt that God was near. The apostles did many wonders and miraculous signs. 44 All the believers were together. They shared everything they had.
One of the handful of Greek words that Christians are likely to know about is koinonia. However, most of them would probably miss the major emphasis of the word. Its related forms occur TWICE in the Acts 2 passage. The meaning many preachers might have mentioned involves fellowship, but the word is more commonly found where the context is something being SHARED. Money, food, time, and work are examples that come to mind... There is MUCH MORE to this word that an occasional "after church pot-luck dinner!"
ttpawpaw: The Christian assembly IS NOT SABBATH. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SABBATH. It is from a DIFFERENT COVENANT AND has a DIFFERENT PURPOSE.

Only in Hebrews 10 v 25 Dont give up the gathering together. But man has distorted the meaning When 2 or more are gathered in my Name I am with you.I am not saying dont go to church. But dont be confused .Having a personal relationship with Jesus being saved being filled with the Holy Spirit and obeying the Holy Spirit is talked about more often in the Bible than going to church at least 1000 fold. And means more to Jesus 1000000 times more. You can go to church 100 years but when you get out the door and see some person that needs help and you tell them to go get a job bum than all you have done is wasted your time Gods time and every child of Gods time It means absoloutely nothing.

Matthew 16 - through - Revelation 21
Jesus said "I will build my independant group of Lone-rangers on this Rock, but the gates of Hades will prevail against them...."
NOT!
You need your fellow believers, and they need you. The entire NT is about the church. Read from Matthew 16 to Rev 21 and tell me where it doesn't indicate meeting as a group.
That's why Jesus is the "Good Shepherd" He guides his sheep like a flock. He doesn't push out the 99 in various directions like the 100th one, right? He gathers. The enemy, the wolf, he scatters.
It's about community. You can't AGAPE, without someone to AGAPE. You can't wash the feet of the TV. You can't give your coat to the newspaper.

Hebrews 10:25
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

No where in the bible that tells you to go to church, only men tell you to go because they need all the money you can give them.

It doesn't specifically say go to church. It does say to keep holy the saboth (day of worship). Most people find that easy to do at church.
