First off Mara... A classy woman would never wear a dress that is too short. So if your a 2 or a 20 you should be able to lay your arms flat against your sides and still touch the bottom of your skirt/dress... or have it go past your finger tips. If not... It's too short.
If you're asking from a style point of view... Dresses always look nice on everyone. They're class and genially give off the "look at me... I'm beautiful vibe."
Also speaking in style... If you doubt it. Fought it. Or forget about it and find something else. Intuition will predict the days outcome.
I'm also getting the feeling like you're either a very heavy girl with low self-esteme or a thinner girl who maybe looking for attention. Advice that you didn't ask for is to evaluate your overall image of yourself.

I don't know how fat you are but there are fat women so big they should just wear a calf length dress.
It depends on how you are built. You have mirrors and can see yourself. So you are the best judge. Maybe the way to judge, Ask yourself, if you were not fat how would you feel seeing a too fat person wearing a too short dress.

Larger women generally look BETTER in dresses than pants, because the fat around the thighs can look like the dreaded "camel toe".
I would recommend wearing a dress that stops just below the knee, nothing like a mini dress.

You could have worded that question a different way. If you want to wear a dress, then wear a dress. It's almost summer time. Are you gonna wear jeans and a turtleneck because you're "fat"???

It's okay for any girl to wear dresses but I don't approve of short dresses on anybody.

And why not? As long you feel comfortable wearing a short dress don't worry what others think about you .

sure. cover up with leggings though. i'm not fat all over, but i've got a big *** and big thighs, so i do everyone a favor by wearing leggings or tights under a short dress. on the other hand, if you're big but have thin or toned legs, show 'em off. and if you're going knee-length or lower, you can do bare legs no matter how big they are.

depends on how fat you are. does the dress cover the whole of your fatness? is it a tight dress? you don't want to draw too much attention to all those disgusting rolls. don't you own a mirror? chances are if it doesn't look good to you, it won't look good to anyone else either

The better question is... why do you care what people think? If you want to wear a dress, who cares? Do it. If you get made fun of, who cares? You're "fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139) "in God's own image" (last part of Genesis 1), and if no one else can see that, then who cares?
Hope this helps.

not too short... i a very large girl and i wear dresses but i make sure they look right. if it shorter than finger tip... then thats probably not a good idea but if it is a little bit above the knees then go for it.
