You've got the Indian River right there, fish the bridges for sheepshead and black drum, find some flats and get some reds and seatrout... surf fishing pays off all along Florida's coasts, Space or Treasure or any other for that matter.

You've got not only Sebastian Inlet, but the Sebastian River (beautiful, if you don't have a boat, I'm pretty sure there's some canoe/kayak rental places along there) If you do rent a yak or a canoe, remember, it's springtime, and you're in florida.... might want to wait till later in the season on that, nevermind, because there's some awful big gators on the Sebastian, and all a kayak or canoe really is is another long low shape in the water.... territory issues this time of year....

C-54 canal I hear is good for bass on the fresh side of the spillway, brackish side, (if it's comparable with any other fresh to brackish spillway) should hold snook and tarpon, probably a few reds there as well....

Another option to find something closer to where you are is to go to your local bait and tackle store and ask them what's biting where. It IS their job to know these things, after all. (I make 'em work, too, I have no shame. I get my idea of where I'm gonna go, but I ask the guys at my bait store "So, what's eating what where?" Changes my mind from time to time, and they're usually right more often than I am.

Most importantly.... fish! If something looks promising, go ahead and throw a line in, there's only one way to find fish, and I know people have honey holes they don't tell ANYONE about... and I know a few unsuspecting ones as well.... sometimes some of the best fish are in the last place you would think to look for them.

Edited to add....
Well, thanks for letting me put in a few cents, Brandon, mostly it's just common sense brackish water stuff that I'd use up on this end of the Lagoon. Although C-54 is all you. Freshwater side at least. ;)

Edited to add again......

Don't let the people with fancy flatsboats trick you. You don't NEED a boat to flatsfish, you just need the desire to get your feet wet and a pair of shoes that doesn't mind getting wet. And a good cast.

Edit.... again. (sorry about the conversation going on in your answers, here.)......

Exert, it's not just bass, man, it's just catching FISH!!! I don't care if it's grunts or puffers or stingrays or anything else for that matter, I'm just happy being able to come home and say "I got to unhook a few fish today." If it's edible and it's in the right size range, that's just an added bonus, ya know? And it's Brandon's own fault he got outfished, he was bragging that he -always- catches bass out of that pond. Ha.

They are still catching a few Spanish Mackerel off the beach in Stuart but you can get snook under the roosevelt bridge if you have the right timing and bait. Some trout in the river in Stuart (Hutchison Island) too. Right now is best for DOLPHIN offshore tho. I hear theyre bitin in 120 ft. Good luck!!!!!!!!

Brandon should know this area like the back of his head. That's his neck of the woods.

Brandon...I knew once she got a hold of that first bass she wouldn't want to do much of anything else. I only hope her fishing addiction leads to many years of happiness. You two have fun!

Gimmenamenow....awesome answer (as expected) from someone I hope I never have to out-fish!
