Adderall is a prescription amphetamine that stimulates the central nervous system, that's how it helps fat loss. for some it decreases the appetite but not all.
if you look at the typical anorexic they have a complete loss of muscle mass and most have higher than average body fat levels, not exactly "healthy".
starvation mode is a most basic function of human biology.
when the body is in an extended period of starvation the metabolic rate slows way down, this causes an immediate decrease in the amount of fat that the body utilizes for energy. the body only has 3 sources of energy which comes from the conversion of amino acids, glucose or fatty acids. the body will catabolize the majority of muscle tissue before it taps into fat stores. it takes less energy for the body to utilize sugars for energy than it does fat. so when the energy intake is severely restricted the body switches to a form of energy that is more efficient.

Starvation mode is a documented, verifiable physical response to extreme food deprivation for whatever the reason. It is a real thing. In a person with inadequate calorie intake, the ketone level of the blood rises as fat storage is converted to glycogen. High levels sustained over a period of time trigger the body to lower the metabolism to conserve what body fat there is available. It is a survival mechanism designed to help protect us from starvation by extending the amount of time we can maintain essential body functions. When insufficient amounts of fat remain, the body then begins to break down muscle tissue for the energy it requires. Bone is broken down as well, for the mineral content stored there. That's why starving people usually lose teeth and can suffer broken or malformed bones.
Medications that supress appetite don't trigger the response, because you are still eating enough calories to maintain normal function. You simply don't feel hungry. Starving people are hungry. Anoxerics are hungry too, they simply ignore or control the urge to eat. The severe anoxeric has a great deal in common physiologically with the starving person. When you intially try to reverse the process, they have a hard time being able to eat and you can kill a starving person by feeding them normally. They don't initially gain weight because the body is in calorie deficit, and intitial intake is diverted to help repair and replace lost stores. It takes a while before the body is in any position to regain fat at all, although as the damage is repaired and the body gets accustomed to an adequate caloric intake, the metabolism resets itself. Eventually, they will begin to regain lost weight and can actually even get overweight. Survivors of the concentration camps were found to be essentially walking skeletons. It took many months of adequate nutrition to restore them to a normal diet, but in most cases they did regain normal weights.
By the way, women do better in starvation scenarios than men because we have higher body fat ratios. Men having more muscle are forced into muscle degeneration much sooner than women, so they die sooner. Women's periods will usually stop when body fat drops to below 18%, as they can't support a pregnancy, and nursing mothers will dry up. The periods will restart, and pregnancy can result, when they regain the body fat percentage.
People use the term starvation mode a little incorrectly, though. It takes a longer period of time to kick in that the average dieter would be willing to tolerate. Normal weight people who fast completely, but drink water, usually don't enter this state for several weeks. While a severe diet would slow the metabolism, it would not truly approach the starvation mode. Your belly would growl, and you would not have the energy you'd like, but you would far more likely eat enough to keep yourself going.

Starvation mode is real. Generally your body will go into starvation mode if you consume less than 1200 kcal per day after a few days. You can still lose weight when you're in starvation mode, you just have to eat an extremely small amount of kcal per day, which of course is very dangerous and unhealthy. When you reduce your kcal intake your body will draw on fat reserves, but it quickly switches to drawing on more muscle tissue than fat tissue. When a person starves they lose more muscle tissue than they do fat.

Starvation is a deficiency in a vital nutrient which forces your body to cannibalize lean tissue (muscle) in order to satisfy the deficiency. The loss in muscle will lower your resting metabolic rate. Here is a related article:

This loss in muscle will initially show up as a weight loss but when the person's percentage body fat is checked, it is often higher.
Here is a very common scenario:
Someone decides that he is carrying more fat than he would like and decides to go on a starvation diet to lose a few lbs. From the day that the person goes on that starvation diet, he will always have problems with his weight.
You will hear people on starvation diets bragging about how much weight that they lost. However, you will have a much tougher time finding one with a sculpted physique.

No, it's not a load of BS. This has been proven when they measured the body fat levels of people that had been on extreme crash diets or starved themselves. Yes, they lost a lot of weight, but it wasn't fat loss that was making them weigh less, it was muscle loss. This is because it only takes 600 calories to burn a pound of muscle, where as you need to burn 3,500 calories to lose a pound of fat. When you don't eat, your body starts conserving as much fat as possible and starts feeding on your muscles instead. Losing muscle mass and not body fat increases your body fat percentage and in the long term actually makes you end up fatter!

I LOVE Journey myself but I completely understand when someone is not a fan of their music. For example I have heard someone say that the song Separate Ways (worlds apart) is Cheesy. I can see the point even though I love that song. BUT if someone were to say like the song Don't Stop Believing is Cheesy I wouldn't buy that bullsh*t for a second that's an awesome song. I mean even non fans of journey that I know like that one song. I DO NOT like the band Tool AT ALL. BUT they do have a lot of musical abilities and skills. However, I love the band Downset, a hardcore band with rap features that are not so musically talented but they have MASS ENERGY and just songs that groove. BQ:Drink alcohol? NO not anymore BQ2:When I say Billy, you say... your silly
