It depends on the specific part of the chest. If it's entirely on the pec muscle, it's not bad at all.
But if it's on the lower part of the bone that runs down the middle of the chest (the sternum), then it's going to be really bad. That area was the worst area on my body that I've had tattooed (much, much worse than the inside of the bicep). Getting tattooed there makes the bone vibrate, which makes it feel like you're getting kicked in the stomach.

Yeah of course it does...how much, well that depends on your pain tolerance. I have seven tattoos so far and next to the one I got on my upper inner arm, my chest was the most painful. Uncomfortable but not agony.

It depends on your tolerance for pain. As for me, I think they tickle. The one I have on my chest is over boob fat, so it didn't hurt NEARLY as much as ones over bone do. It depends on how big, where, amount of muscle versus amount of fat in the area, and your own personal tolerance for pain.
Don't listen to all the crazies who are going to tell you it hurts just to deter you from getting it. If you want it bad enough, then a little pain is of zero consequence to you - just part of the deal.

Heck ya!
But don't despair...if you use Emela Cream it'll numb your skin and you'll feel hardly anything (if not nothing).
You'll have to ask a pharmasist for this cream.
