The Old Testament attains its full meaning and fulfillment in the New Testament and in turn sheds light upon the New Testament and allows it to be understood more fully. The New Testament in turn fulfils the Old Testament because it reveals the final Word of God, promised to Israel, Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 1,2)
Peace and every blessing!

You are proof of what I just told someone this last week about the bad nomenclature this represents. You must understand that the testaments are a continuous story of God,s bloodline and the red thread that runs thru both testaments. The new is a continuational story of the old. Or call it a two phase story, but one story. Both testaments reveal the true messiah. One tells of His coming and the other state that He came but did not teach a new gospel, but Jesus was the One who crystallized the words found in the first testament and taught it in the new !!!

Many of the prophecys in the old testatment not only told about Jesus arrival and what he would do but it was prophecys about our future.
Isaiah 65:25 told of a time when the lion would lay down with the lamb, the lion would eat straw like the bull.
Psalms 37:9,10,11,29 told how all the wicked would be destroyed and the righteious would live forever on the earth.
That hasn't happened yet. So the whole bible is important.
