That is an incredibly bad idea to try to do that with a CPU that is running an operational system. You could do it by causing a fault, such as an arithmetic instruction that will divide by zero. When you exit from running the system is not going to be under control and could end up in a bad condition (such as turning on a heater without any way to shut off that heater).

You would be better off trying to use the logic to safely shut down any outputs and leave them off until the program tells it to start again.
