Religion as a whole is responsible for many people killing other people. 9/11, the Holocaust (6 million), Iran/Iraq, Palestine/Israel, the list goes on and on. Religion downright scares me and is one of the most evil forces known to man made by man.

They've been trying this "National Prayer Day" thing since Reagan was in office. It's never really caught hold, for the reason you stated above: It sounds too much like Islam. Besides, I think the majority of people call themselves Christian, but in truth, don't want to be bothered with the trappings of religion.
By the way: Isn't a National Day of Prayer unconstitutional?

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world, it wont be suprising if Dobson has gone Islamic, Islam is a peaceful religion, only one who researchs, read the Koran will know this, i myself a convert and i can tell u for fact the Koran has never been changed, people from all walks of life, intelligent, wealhty, edcuated people are all converting, u just cant take it and cant accept the fact ISLAM is spreading & theres nothing u and people like u can do about it, deal with it & move on, if one gets brainwahsed in things its because they are weak minded, gullable & eaisly lead people, i converted because i researched about Islam and appealed to me , if people do bad and happend to be Christian, Muslim Jew, does it mean the religions are at fault? NO exactly , rest ma case there, Islam never says kill innocents, however the Koran does say if all esle fails then combat comes in as meaure of self defense, people know this but are jeleous & in denial, thats it, Islam is the best, thank God i converted, i have never been more at peace, its only the unattractive , gullable people who cant accept reality, people who have bad childgood, no mother or no dad, been bullied, etc etc its all them who look for reasons to shame other people because they cant stand things better them and people better then them, anywa have a nice day and i pray for u, peace.

The National Day of Prayer began when Ronald Reagan was president. James Dobson has not gone Islamic. You apparently do not understand how prayer works and why the National Day of Prayer. Its a day set aside for all Christians and actually all peoples of this nation to pray for our country and our leaders. It is not specified to just Christianity.

No, probably not. I definitely couldn't go a working day without listening to some Chopin, Satie or other piano work. It's just so relaxing. This is completely unrelated, but you look gorgeous in your profile picture, Nana. I apologize if I sound like a creeper.

Good for you for having the balls to recognize this issue. It's not just the Christian who face peril from Islam. Every religion in the melting pot does, as well as atheists and humanists. Islam seeks to overthrow and destroy, assimilate or subjugate. Sound awfully familiar to a cube-ship flying Sci-fi group on Star Trek, don't they? Don't you find it ironic their shrine in Mecca is cube shaped? They are the Borg of religions. With them, there is no compromise once their "cells" have grown large enough for takeover. It's "You will be assimilated".
Watch the rocks, my dear.

I'm celebrating the National Day of Reason.
On the National Day of Prayer, lots of religious people will do a lot of praying.
On the National Day of Reason, which is being held the same day, lots of atheists will give blood.
Praying is a way for people to feel good about doing something without actually having to do anything.
Giving blood actually helps people.
Atheists are giving of themselves to help others. Religious people are giving lip-service to help others.
