if they can't all come home, then they ALL should be able to perform their jobs without political red tape! It is outrageous to say the White House is keeping the soldiers from calling the shots as they see it in combat, and tying their hands!

How are we dissing our troops by withdrawing them from a situation that does not seem solvable by military means? When Lebanon did not go well, Reagan brought the troops home asap. When Somalia did not go well, Clinton brought the troops home. Even Nixon finally brought the troops home from Vietnam without solving the problem they originally went to solve. So our troops are supposed to stay in Iraq indefinitely just because George Bush is too stubborn to admit that they are not doing much good over there?

By stretching things out and keeping it going that makes the contribution meaningful? That makes no sense whatsoever.
They're no closer to finishing the job today than they were at the beginning. If we keep the war going indefinitely forever it means something? That's the stubborn ideology that just results in more dead men and women. Refusing to admit a mistake just so everyone can have some sort of illusion that the war has been worthwhile is pathetic.
You don't fix the situation by killing more insurgents. For every guy they kill or arrest, there are 100 more just waiting to pick up the slack. It's either cut the losses now, or double or triple the death toll of the soldiers and then cut the losses in the future.
Unconditional support and "my country right or wrong" is a fool's resolve. No intelligent person trumps common sense and logic with nationalism.

Been there, completed that and characteristic a niece serving precise now. If this is basically 2% of republican voters than are you able to think of how minute the extensive kind is for Democrats? The Demographic make up of the army is documented to be majority of Republicans. in certainty basically 7% are liberals.

Uh, have you been paying attention to anything that's happened, Oh I don't know...in the past 4 YEARS?!?! Thanks for crawling out from whatever rock you have been hibernating under and trying to give your opinion, but it seems like someone hasn't been in touch with reality lately. If the soldiers could call the shots I am sure they would have either changed their strategy by now or they would have pulled out. The fact that we are still there 4 years after "mission accomplished" just goes to show you that the white house is the only thing keeping them from coming home....or from succeeding. I feel like we should support our troops and keep them all as safe as possible as long as they are there, but there comes a point...

those who serve in the military never fight for nothing. they are doing what they were told to do by the leaders of this country. therefore they fight, many will die. that is the essence of war.
