Ok this guy acted like he liked me when he doesn't and as it turns out he wants my best friend! Why did he flirt with me if he didn't want me?

well if this guy won you over, he was prolly trying to win over your trust. so when this guys goes after your best friend, your friend is going to know that you trust him so it will be easier for the guy to win over your best friend. i hate to say it but i've done the same thing too, and its backfired on me cuz now im starting to like the girl i was flirting with more than her friend i was actually going for.
maybe you could figure out a plan, to make him start liking you more than your best friend, if your best friend isnt interested in him.

i hate to say it, but to get your friends attention. Also, you know more about your friend than he does. He probably didn't mean to send that vibe out, but he wants to be with your friend, by being your friend. By getting you on his side, he can be more appealing to your friend. Maybe, you read the signs wrong. Or maybe, he acts like that around girls. I've had this done to me before, but you need to remember, if your friend ends up happy with this guy, you don't want to stand in the middle. If your a true friend you'll get over it and help him out so your friend can be happy.

If i was to guess, i would say he is playing the game. Admitting straight out that you love someone puts you in a position of vunrability. If he sends mixed signals and see how you react he can get an idea of how you feel without having to ask directly.
It may be a little cowardly but you probally do the same.

A lot og guys do thsat for attentiojn. They basically do it so you start liking them and then they have something to brag about to there guy frineds. Its the way they are , but not all guys are like that. There are some really sweet guys out there just give umm a chance.

They like the ego boost of having you wanting them. Some guys will flirt with and encourage every chick that shows an interest because it makes them feel like studs.

Some guys are what U call...BIG FLIRTS!! It makes a guy feel all tough when he can go to his friends and dish it all out. So, don't flirt back....OR tel him who you feel. DOn't use payback!

It is usually because he is on a power trip of some kind and he has no regard for anyone elses feelings.In short he is a pig!!!
