If you know your sisters name then check the telephone "white pages" on the Internet. Another method is to check the electoral role, but that would need to be done in Australia at the central office in each state using their computer. Another method is to contact the Salvation Army in Australia and ask them to do a search on your behalf. The last option is to employ a "private investigator" to do a search for you.
Some people have 'silent telephone numbers' for personal reasons so they may not show up in the white pages. Similarly, some people are enrolled to vote, but do not show up as being listed as their enrolment is "hidden". This is extremely rare and there has to be an extreme reason for that to happen.

I just keyed in Electoral Role and it came up for Australia and I'm in New York so you CAN look up your sister there OR, go to anywho.com and click on INTERNATIONAL ---type in her name and you'll probably have to pick a FEW of the areas in Australia before you might find her that way IF she has a telephone listed in HER name. If she married, it would be harder to find her.... You could also go into chat rooms from Australia and ask questions maybe someone would be able to give you a little insite in that chat room.....You might be able to get hold of the American Consulate in Australia who MAY have a record of her passport...IF she is actually IN Australia....

I live in aus, and I'd try myspace, I can't really think of any other options if you're from a different country.
If you were here, you could look her up in the electoral roll.
Good Luck.
