Of course. I would happily lie to save someone from persecution or something like that.

A lie is never all right. It a sin to lie, whether a white or black, a mortal or minor sin. A sin is still a sin in God's eyes. There is no right or right time to lie. It is a sin to kill but if it is self-defence then when Judgement day come, it is between you and God. I would rather be killed to go to heaven than to kill someone in self-defence coz you do not know where you are going.

You can joke and say it is okay to lie when asked the infamous "do I look fat in this?" question, but in all seriousness, look at how often we lie. We lie to spare people's feelings, on our resumes to get an interview, about our weight on our driver's licenses. You can call all of these things "white lies", but they are still lies. I think you have to be the judge of yourself in this circumstance. Would you lie to help one of your friends? Would you lie to save someone from jail time? Would you lie to your family about a terminal illness to spare them grief? We take these things as they come to us, and try to make the best decision with the time allotted. As long as we remember that our lies not only affect us, but everyone around us, we can make that decision a good one. Just think, would the truth be worse?

It is right to lie, when the circumstances dictate. Each person has their different walks with God, and must use their judgment for each instance. It is right to kill, to defend your life, or if you catch a robber at your threshold, then you can kill them, and if you are being sexually molested then it is ok to kill according to North Carolina law...Jesus told Noah; if a man is killed by a man, then that man should be killed by man, and if an animal kills a man, then that animal should be killed by man...
lmao at Josh.. I think U98 has the right idea...

Of course lying is okay - in some circumstances, just as killing is okay - under some circumstances.
But then you didn't ask about deceit, and you didn't talk about murder, either.

I believe the two most told lies are "I love you," and "You're going to be just fine." In specific circumstances both of these lies may be needed to save another from terrible emotions.

It's okay to lie if it'll save a life or prevent someone from getting physically harmed.
