As explained in Part I of "The Mormons" on PBS, dancing has been an integral and important aspect of our faith. Wholesome exercise, which includes dance, its form and beauty, is a God-given blessing to us and those that wish to practice it.

We believe that we ought to keep our bodies healthy; therefore, dancing is one way to reach that goal.

Tune in sometimes on the BYU channel and see for yourself the beauty of ballroom dancing performed by LDS membership and competitors.

You wouldn't find parents letting unmarried couples dance at our church. All the dances the Mormons have stir up passions that need to be held in check until marriage. My husband and I did not dance till marriage.

When I was a Mormon teen, there were at least 4 kids in our small ward that got pregnant before marriage.

What dancing? I spent 20 years of my life in Mormon churches, and there was never once dancing during any of the meetings...maybe at the teen dances....

I am a member, and I have never heard of any dancing as a religious ceremony in the LDS church. Care to clarify a bit?
