Why do you experience double pain when you put your foot into water that's too hot?

Double pain being firstly a sharp pain followed by a longer lasting throbbing

the water is too hot and your foot is trying to protect itself by contracting the muscles. Don't use such hot water.

i am not a doctor but its probably your foot cramping up
