You've been wounded on the battlefield. The enemy will find you in a matter of minutes. Your comrades have all fled. If the enemy capture you, they will torture you to death in some horrible ways, because they always do that to people they capture. You have a gun with one bullet left. Would you use it on yourself?

Wow, I was actually thinking of that Kipling quote, though I couldn't remember the exact words...

Yes... if I were terminally ill, I would also choose the time, place, and manner of my death.

If I was severely wounded - no means of even moving myself - and no way my comrades will come back then yes, I would. Probably shoot it from under my chin pointed upwards at an angle so it'll go through an eye and my brain. Don't want to mess up and actually still be alive after that one shot and THEN be tortured horribly by the enemy on top of it.

As Kipling said:
...
When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains
An' go to your Gawd like a soldier.

Well you said "if they capture you".
So I would try to remain hidden and work on the assumption that they don't capture me and save the bullet for later.
I'd rather take one of em out!
Never say die!

No.
Life is an incredible gift that somebody gave me. To honor that gift, I must breathe each moment of it that I can.
Let's say that the enemy overlooks me entirely and my platoon comes in a matter of a few more minutes and saves me . . . .

Yep. I'd rather go out my own way.
But I won't be wounded on a battlefield unless they start drafting chubby 35-year-old women, so it doesn't really matter.

You have been diagnosed with breast cancer do you shoot yourself or do chemo? Either way there is a chance to live. I'd take the bullet out, put it in my mouth so I wouldn't scream when they beat me.

Gruesome, but yes, I'd do it. I don't see the point in suffering, especially if it's guaranteed to lead to a horrible death, as your scenario suggests.

if u have no chance ofg surviving and u were definitely sure that they will torture you, then ya i would do it. hu would want to be tortured then killed. i would want it to go by quickly. and i wouldnt get caught by the enemy and thats a good thing.

No way, taking one's life is never okay in God's book, that is a one way ticket to hell. Let them take your life instead, is what I would do... or use the one last bullet in self defense.
