Purgatory is in the imagination of the Catholics.
The bible says the dead know nothing. They simply go back to dust.
Once the dead are resurrected, on the last day, then they will be able to think again. But Purgatory. Don't worry about it. It simply does not exist.

I'm sorry there is no such thing a purgatory what so ever . It is a man made up idea . It's either believe and trust in Jesus or suffer for ever . Think about it ...if we could pray someone to heaven then why did Jesus die on the cross for then ??... John 3:36 "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him ".

There is no such thing as a purgatory....nothing at all in the Bible is metioned about it. When you die, you either go to heaven or hell. "Purgatory" was the Catholic church's way of getting money out of the people, who were taught BY the church that giving the church offerings and such would shorten their or their loved one's time in purgatory. That's about all I know about it. I haven't studied Catholicism all that much. :) Email me or somethinh if you'd like to talk more about it.

Purgatory is neither heaven, which is eternal reward with God, nor hell, which is eternal punishment through separation from God. Purgatory is a temporary place of purification for the many, many people who do not die in a state of mortal sin (bound for hell), but are not worthy to be in the presence of God.
Yes, there is suffering in Purgatory. And no, you do not want to go there...but it is better than hell.
God is described in the Bible as a "consuming fire". I visualize sins as flammable things that stick to our souls. The process of losing them, which is required to approach God, is painful.

The answers to 1 through 5 are all "no".

Purgatory is not a place or a final destination. it is the process by whivh those who are saved by Jesus Christ, yet not perfect, becaome perfectly holy so they may enter heaven. It is the final justification of the soul by Jesus Christ,

The "place" that lissy is speaking of is Limbo. Limbo is a theological theory regarding the final resting place of the souls of the righteous, but unbaptized person. No one really knows what happens to these people, but we entrust these people to a loving and merciful God.

1. no
2. no
3. N/A
4. N/A

5. N/A, Purgatory is for those who have been saved by Jesus, but still need prayer to be allowed in heaven. A person in purgatory cannot go to hell, yet it is a place of purging and purifing, so it is not a fun place to be, but a necessary washing in order to be fit for heaven.

I'm not sure where it is but before anyone argues that it doesn't exist. Let me explain a little about it. It is a real place where the soul has to be cleansed before entering heaven because no one enters heaven unless they are perfected. And by no means is there on perfect sinless person among us. The bible states that fact about everyone being cleansed of sins before entering heaven.
