seems that the world is not turning away from god, in fact that the world is steeped in radical and irrational "godism."
is there a correlation between belief and god to a radical point and the deaths of those that may have different beliefs? would this not more closely resemble falling apart?
just curious.
before the insults come, i am not a hedonistic satan loving god hater. i will refrain from profession of belief for the question's sake.

You got it - as far as your "further remarks," which of course completely reverse the sentiment implied in your actual question...lol.

On the theory of radical Islam, the 9/11 hijackers were executing God's will in slaughtering thousands of innocent civilians, i.e. "infidels."

On the theory of Catholicism then current, the Inquisition was executing God's will in roasting at the stake people who dared openly defy Catholic dogma, i.e. "heretics."

Examples like these may be multiplied endlessly. "Fundamentalism" always means that at least 3/4 of the rest of the world is not merely wrong, but an "abomination" to God; and it's not a big leap to the idea that those people must be destroyed. And since the fundamentalist position is always based on purely imaginary concepts, the resulting bigotry is all the more powerful, because logically unassailable. It's no use pointing out contradictions in Scripture to a Christian, because he's already predetermined that there are none; the only real "poser" is the discrepancy for which he hasn't heard some sleazy Sunday School equivocation - and if he's been going long enough, he's probably learned how to make up his own. Once a person starts thinking this way, there's no reasoning with him - your statements either resonate with his programming or they don't.

Incidentally, P.S., I love the guy who thinks the problem is "Tolerance." As if there's a huge propaganda campaign to trick us all into being more tolerant and empathetic, but what that really means is that nobody has any accountability and everybody can get away with everything, etc. As if "Tolerance" necessarily implies rampant licentiousness. As if society itself is not founded on the concept of mutual tolerance! "Live and let live" does not mean "Don't resist when you're being raped." We are justly intolerant of individuals who pose a legitimate threat to our collective - e.g. "fundamentalists" and radicals - because they've broken the agreement.

No. The way I see it the truth of reality is beyond humans and any particluar belief or belieif system is just a facet of reality. But we have plenty of other religons going strong, so I don;t see why that shouldn't compensate for just one religion (and just one god of a polytheistic religion). And the world isn't falling apart. Yeah, some scary things are happening but it is not like we are experiencing a nuclear holocaust or something. So relax a bit, as for global warming we still have a chance to fix it and Zeus isn't going to do that.

There is much truth in what you say.
Turning away from God is one of the final signs.
False teaching was the sign prior to it.
The world is engulfed in false teaching today.
Ultimately the false teachings are leading man toward
something that he will not be able to comprehend, which is a falling away from God.
Jesus and Muhammad find no differences in each other, yet
the religions of Christianity and Islam are at each others throats. This is responsible for mans falling away from God.

Actually, people are being programmed to accept control by the state since the '70's, after Nixon resigned.

The rise of conservatism and right-wing religious beliefs have surged since that time (considered a high-water mark for liberalism).

Conservatism took a dim view of an authority figure like Nixon being tossed due to the influence of the Hippies. Everything we've seen since is a result of conservative influence seeking to prevent another conservative authority figure being tossed by liberals.

Thus we get Bush.

It's falling apart entirely because of our actions and lack of. There's also people out there who pray that things will magically get better, rather then doing what they can for themselves, even if it's limited action. Should there really be a God like said by the Bible, wouldn't He want us to do many things, including taking care of Earth, for ourselves?

if the world was falling apart because we are all turning away from god, i'm packing up my things and going straight to hell cause i naver believed in anything and i most likely never will.
i'll tell you now that if there is a "god" the ending of the world will be quick and painless, not in a huge war like everybody thinks.
i'll see you all in hell!!

The bizarre part of all that is that the two biggest religions seem bent on destroying each other - while worshiping the very same God of Abraham.

Maybe that's a clue...

The world is just fine. Things have been bad for as long as humans have been here. The only reason it seems so bad is because of newer killing technology, and the world wide media coverage. Don't worry.

It's about the same as it's always been, but in the regions where religion, or anti-religion, have been unable to grasp control of governments, things are pretty darn good.

Secularism. It's the only way to go.

Man is falling away because
"Tolerance" means No Responsibility to self or others.
"Tolerance" means never having to say you're sorry.
"Tolerance" means that I have No Accountability To Society
Or to the care of the Planet Earth.
"Tolerance" means that if I want to treat myself and others like trash and raise my kids to do the same, and treat this planet like it's my personal garbage can that's my business and none of yours.
