This subject is a bit of a touchy one. Should (although hypothetically) all religious or supernatural beliefs be destroied? Most religions cause problems, even wars. Could it create peace? More problems? Don't bring up one religion in specific. Please.

don't you think thats like a group of blind people saying that belief in color should be eradicated? I mean all that arguing about fashion and colors matching and clashing over something that doesn't even exist(as far as they can perceive) is silly and causes so much trouble and wasted time....

short answer, just because you can't perceive it does not mean its real.

All attempts by one human being to force another to believe, think, feel or act in a way which goes against their own feelings, beliefs, etc are futile. Concentrate on living your own life and leave others to hold whatever belief they choose. There is no definitive reality and neither you nor anyone else can categorically say whether the "supernatural" is real or not. Hitler was keen on eradicating people.

religion is an excuse for problems, sometimes...granted. But if you erradicate them, we'd find some other excuse. It's not the nature of religion to cause problems (in fact, most are about AVOIDING them). It's the nature of humans to act stupidly. For all we know, (fanatics: please note that by saying "for all we know" i'm stating clearly that i don't know for sure) religion and the supernatural believes have saved us from some vary nasty situations. Plus, the way i see it, they have a cultural value that is quite dear to the human race. Have you ever been to an european church, or a mosquee or so on? pragmatism alone cannot originate such beauty and greatness. The love and fear of something greater than us (even if it doesn't exist) can elevate people's spirit. My humble opinion.
I will agree with you on one thing though, there's as to be a line drawn to separate belief from fanatism. it's fanatism which we have to fight

That would be kind of foolish. Virtually all laws in the free world are based on moral precepts found in the Christian bible. Religions do not cause wars, people and their incorrect interpretations cause war. War is caused by greed and lust. People who use the various religions as tools for hate obviously misuse the intent of the faith. Several great wars have been fought for love, others for honor, some for freedom. You can't blame the problems of the world on religion. In fact more religion directed at helping and improving the plight of all peoples on the earth is a much better idea than what you suggest.

That's not even a very good question. How would they be eradicated? By killing all adherents of any religion? Atheism is essentially a religion, it has no supernatural beliefs, but by the standard of your question they need killin' too.

Finally, consider the possibility that people are correct in believing in their religion.

Ultimately, the answer is, no belief shouldn't be eradicated. It would be impossible, unethical and everyone would end up dead.

I think you are over simplifying things a lot. Religions do not start wars, human greed starts the war and some people are persuaded to join the fight because of religion.
If you think of the nearest Church, Synagogue, Zoroastrian Temple, Sikh Temple, Chapel or whatever and think about the people who go there.
Are they mostly:
A) People who do cake stalls for charity, sing songs and probably have white hair or are young kids in a club (guides or whatever).
or
B) Murderers and thieves who campaign for the invasion and conquest in the name of their faith.
I'd say they are mostly A. Most religions encourage people to do good deeds and help people.

Organized religion is the issue, that is having beliefs enforced over experience and shared knowledge. The supernatural is real (I make this statement based on personal experiences, and not belief), but almost never owes anything to organized religion.

As far as wars go, ALL wars are fought over resources. It is a myth that religion is behind them. Religion is the excuse used to hide the truth, but it is never the cause itself. If there are no resources to fight over, there's no point in fighting.

The simplest way would be to eradicate the people who have the beliefs:
This would also solve the problem of over-population.

Why go halfway. Better to eradicate all beliefs. They are in the end just beliefs , not the truth.

Blaming religion for all the troubles in the world and wars is just a little narrow minded. Still, it is human nature to always blame others. Take religion out of society? its called hell. (or communism, same difference)
