I suppose it is the natural curiosity of man and the anticipation of Christians that things are about to end and that the return of Christ is soon. Although there are some mixed beliefs in this, most Christians that believe in the rapture believe it will come just before the end time, though some do not. Think about it, if you were sure you were going to get $10,000,000 and the way you would know it is coming is by getting a call on your cell phone, would you be anxious for it to ring?

GOD told us how to tell when the "last generation" would be.

Mat 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

Whats summer? Harvest time, harvest of people. People are figs as in Jer 24.

Mat 24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Whats at the doors? End of this age.

Mat 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

How long is a generation in the bible? 40 years or 72 years or 120 years.

Jer 24 started in 1948 when the good and bad figs returned to Jerusalem. Which had not happened for a 2000 year period. So yes we are in the "last days."

“Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father. For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be." --Matthew 24:36-39

Although we cannot know --or learn-- exactly when the end will occur, we certainly can discern that the time is Very Near...

WE don't predict anything. We read the bible which speaks of Judgment Day and we interpret such according to our own beliefs.

End of Times, Judgment Day, the end of the world, etc. are not some kind of Christian phenomenon. All major religions, present and past have held such a belief.

BTW, why can't you use proper writing mechanics or is that just a non-Christian thing?

Yes the bible says that we are not to know the day or the hour, but we are to know the "season" and the bible mentions when that will be. So we aren't predicting anything we are just reiterating what the bible says concerning the matter.

BECAUSE THEY'RE HUMAN. THE BIBLE SPECIFICALLY SAYS THAT NO MAN SHALL KNOW THE HOUR OR THE DAY. NO MAN PEOPLE. NO ONE KNOWS AND ANYONE THAT CLAIMS THEY KNOW ARE FALSE PROPHETS. THE "RAPTURE" IS MISINTERPRETED BY THE ONE AND ONLY RELIGION THAT BELIEVES IN THE RAPTURE. ALL OTHER CHRISTIAN GROUPS AGREE THAT THEY ARE GETTING THAT PASSAGE WRONG. IF THERE IS A GOD, HE'S HERE FOR EVERYONE AND HE'S NOT GOING TO SECRETLY STEAL PEOPLE AWAY, RANDOMLY. HE WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING SECRETLY. WHAT WOULD BE THE POINT?

end cases circumstances are projections of the human experience. start, existence, loss of life. assume your very final loss of life, and generalize the contributing aspects. often, human beings die from wrestle, starvation, disease, and injuries. those are the top attributes of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. Charismatic leaders can play hob with the fears all of us share as people. The e book of Revelation isn't with regard to the worldwide's destiny. that's with regard to the approach of redemption interior the guy. the comparable parallels that are exploited by using bogus prophets, are actual a guidebook for pastors. If understood, and used righteously, a minister can nurture his congregation. that's like 'Cliff's Notes', or 'Salvation for Dummies'. i think of the Revelation is the oldest occasion of disinformation in existence. authentic shepherds are left to their paintings, on a similar time as all the gullible powers and principalities are diverted by using wars, mass migrations, and such that could desire to possibly take place besides. human beings die, so do empires. yet, there is windfall....

fundamentalists (whether they admit it or not) seem to believe that, being "true believers", an apocalypse will do them good. their god will save them no matter what the fate of the earth or sinful human beings.

it's irrational, self-righteous and rather unsympathetic. we're facing real crises (ie the destruction of the environment) that many of the same fundamentalists seem to avidly deny exist. is this a subconscious desire for an apocalypse or something?

I'm not trying to make generalizations or anything, but it's a fairly obvious trend. the "rapture" concept is simply destructive. :s

Okay, a couple of things...
The rapture is not Biblical. The entire concept is less than 150 years old.
The end times ARE Biblical, but Jesus Himself said that no one knows the time.
That means, we must always be ready, but beware those who presume to *know*.

Peace

Christians do not predict the end of time because no one here knows the moment. The bible also says there will be false teachers!
