Milk is the best drink, it is the only thing that can neutralize capsaicin (what makes spicy foods taste spicy) However, any dairy product like yogurt or ice cream will also work. The colder and creamier the food the better it will work.

Milk or beer. NOT water. Water simply rolls off the tongue, but does not remove the spiciness. It may momentarily cool it off, but the parts of the food that burned in the first place do not get washed off. Milk or beer actually remove the spiciness from your tongue.

Seriously, the best drink ever is a really cold cup of Polar Orange Dry soda. Now before you become skeptical, trust me on this. Once you eat something hot and you feel it burn, just take a really massive swig of the soda......it really helps to neutralize the burning sensation. It's saved my *** on numerous occassions. :)

The spicyness you suffer from comes from an oil found in the jalapeno pepper. When you drink water, the oil doesn't dissolve but only gets moved around.

Milk, however, contains fat that connects to the the jalapeno oils and flushes it to your stomach.

my guess would be milk or water....or eating something like bread that has substance, but is not spicy.

indian cuisine can be very spicy and a popular drink is a lassi, which is sort of like a fruity, yogurty, cold milkshake.

Dairy works, so grab a glass of milk or a milkshake or a smoothie... that should cut the heat!
