I guess what I would say here is that I wish you would consider showing compassion on Mr. Gibson. Have you ever been an alocoholic or known someone who is? I have a very beloved family member who was for many years. And I love this man. But when drunk, he was unbearable. I also come from a very hotheaded family, and we often, even without the influence of drugs and alcohol say awful, horrible things - including things we don't mean. In fact, the angrier we get the more likely you'll hear absolutely crazy ranting and statements that don't reflect our heart at all. Have you never done this yourself?!? Or never seen someone you love or care about do it? Yes, it is DEPLORABLE, embarassing, AWFUL behavior. And trust me, it is excruciatingly humiliating later to the person who's said or done something outrageous. Mr. Gibson has been honest about his problems with drinking. Just like with any other person alive, we should give the person the right to make apology and clear their own name. After all, only Mr. Gibson and God Himself know he really feels. But there is a verse in the bible I like to live by, because I am from a family of volatile people: "A righteous person falls seven times, and GETS BACK UP." - Proverbs
Mr. Gibson says he is a christian, does not hate Jewish people or any other people, and that he is very sorry for the things he said. I think you should give him the same kind of benefit of the doubt that you would someone in your own family. Even if they screw up a lot, you keep loving them.

Mel will have to wait. There are murderers, pedophiles, people who drive slow in the fast lane, etc. ahead of him on the list.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe God hasn't struck him down yet because God agrees with him? I do not agree with him myself though.
