Hi, i'm on a diet trying to loose weight, but mostly get healthy and eat right. I find it hard to cut out breads completely even though many people have said i should. So if i were to eat bread sometimes what would be the best choice? I've heard of 12-grain bread is that any good?

100% WHOLE WHEAT is what you want. This bread is the least processed of all breads. It also has fiber as well.

Since it is less processed than white, it takes longer for the body to break down and digest. Since it takes longer to digest, your blood sugar is less effected. White bread is digested very fast and raise your blood sugar, causing you to become hungry again much earlier than wheat.

Whole grain is the correct choice. You don't want to cut out bread completely. You need carbs in a well balanced diet. Eat alot of veggies, alot of protein, a lil bread or carbs and drink lots of water. Also don't eat anything 2 hours before going to bed. Best of luck.....

Look for whole grain, high fiber breads. I lost over 100 pounds by following a high fiber diet and ate lots of bread the whole time, there is no reason to give up the foods you love....just read labels and make informed choices. Fiber has the additional benefit of making you feel fuller with no added calories.

Eat bread that says 100% whole grain or whole wheat. These have more fiber than other kinds, and they will fill you up faster.

Pita bread with hummus, and low carb tortillas are really good, too.
