I'm pretty sure that it is the rear driver side tire doing it. We have had to replace this rim before. When driving and the vibration starts I notice that the driver mirror is a little shaky but not the rear view or passenger mirror (that is why I think it is on the driver side) and it feels like it is coming from the rear.
Upon inspecting said rim I noticed a scratch kinda in the middle running around the bottom part of the inside (where I can see it) - kinda in line with my brakes. Just had the brakes replaced in November so I'm sure if it was there then someone would have mentioned it.
Any ideas?

Got the u joint replaced not that long ago (i think it was the 4 wheel drive one).
Vibration is not noticeable when I drive under 55.

Thanks for all the help. I took it in yesterday to get the tires balanced and rotated and I had a bad tire with wires showing/broke.

does it shake all the time and does the vib go away when you apply the brakes...or is it more noticeable at certain speed's,

If it goes away when you apply the brakes its a wheel bearing,if you get the vib at around 55-65 mphs it could be the center support brng or a u-joint...if it's constant at most speeds you most likely threw a wheel weight and need to get tires balanced...if you suspect it's in the rim, just move the wheel and see if the vib follows.....hope this helps..

I own a shop, and what I would do is this; Get on a four lane road, and follow in another vehicle. Have the person driving the Yukon get it to the point it vibrates at, and then you can move to either side of the vehicle and watch the wheels to see which one is the problem. I would vote for a warped wheel, as this is how they do when they are warped. Look for the wheel to wobble from side to side, and up & down as in a tire out of round or a bad shock absorber letting the wheel hop. I have found many vibrations this way, and if you can see it, you can be sure you are on the correct wheel that needs attention. If you do not find it in the wheels, then it must be a u-joint needs replaced in the drive-shaft. Either way, this is the best way I have found to find it.
Part 2:
After thinking about this for a while, if you would have the tires balanced, and make sure there is no clumps of dirt, or grease hung up on the back side of the rim. I have seen a clump of grease fall off the ball joint right after it had been lubricated, and cause this. Also; have the front-end lubricated, as I have seen a sticking ball joint cause this kind of problem. Finally; When you have the tires balanced, watch for a wheel that goes up & down on the machine, and not just side to side. A tire can get out of round on the circumference, and hop at higher speeds due to a broken belt in the tire. Look for flat spots worn on the tire, as a bad shock will cause a wheel to bounce up & down, and would be worse at higher speeds.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

Start with the balancing of the wheels, because it is the cheapest, quickest easiest place to start. If the rim is scratched, you may have hit something small that has knocked a wheel weight off. Make sure that when you take it in for the wheel balance, you mention the problem that you are after to the technician.

when is the last time you have your tires balanced and rotated...if you think it is coming from the drivers side rear...then get hubby to switch the back tire to the front and it the vibration becomes more noticable, then more that likely in the tire..but it vibration doesn't change.. have rear brakes and rotors checkd and the rear differential...might even be the drive shaft...

that year model had a problem with the u-joints, have them checked,(most of my customers also comment on a "pop"or a "creak" noise in addition to the vibration)
