i admire the Tortall books by using Tamora Pierce. i prefer to advise commencing with Alanna: the 1st journey. yet another very stable fantasy author is Mercedes Lackey, surprisingly her Heralds of Valdemar sequence. once you're searching for paranormal books, i could advise the Mediator sequence by using Jenny Carroll.

I don't like to read but if you don't like reading either you could type in the book Holes at sparknotes.com and that gives you a plot summary and a summary chapter by chapter.
You might be able to go on booksamillion.com and look for books and then go back to sparknotes.com to find the type of book you're looking for.
