My parents once helped the moonies out big time. Got them a liscence to sell door-to-door and helped them get a camping permit. It was so embarrasing.

Reereecreek - I dunno if it counts but it's AWFUL! Poor thing. (you I mean). I can't imagine having that as a mom in law. Beats mine, hands down.

Yes and I regret it. It was just last week actually. I've told my friends and family that Jehovah Witnessess have found a way into your house!!!!!!!! Im such a sucker, let me explain.......

Last tuesday i had two people turn up at my door. One was an elderly man (he was blind) and the other his son (i think) he called him dad anyway. Well the son asked me if i would be so kind to let his father use my toilet. Being a good person I thought what harm could it do. The boy was only about 6 years old. So i waited outside the loo as his dad did his bussiness and stayed with the boy. On their way out the old man asked me a question.....
"If i could change one thing in the world what would it be?"
I saw no harm in answering his question and that was the beginning of it all.
Cut along story short (and im not a rude person so couldnt just throw them out) I had to endure 30 minutes of Jehovah bible study with them. :0( I just agreed with everything they said and FINALLY they left, thanking me for my time!!!!!!
Ofcourse the lovely WAKE artical they gave me went straight in the bin. Those 30 minutes had never dragged by SO SLOWLY!!!!!

Learn't my lesson though. Next time im going to check whose at the door first before i open it and any suspisions and my door will stay shut.
My mum has now put a notice on our front door saying.....

"NO JEHOVAH WITNESSESS"

Hmm don't know if this counts as being suckered. Well, I was suckered for about 10 seconds by a friendly face.

I was at Mount Vernon in VA with my kids, and this very friendly-looking woman came up to me in a rush and said, "Hi!" with her hand outstretched. My brain registered that she was handing something to me and I reflexively reached out and and took it.

Well, wouldn't you know it was a religious tract. I looked at it in horror for a few seconds, quite disappointed in myself for being so naive, and then handed it back, saying ,"Oh, no thank you. Not at all interested."

At which point she started screaming at me as I ushered by kids away that the end was near and I'd be sorry.

So much for that friendly face :p

Don't feel bad. About 1/2 the American public was suckered by an allegedly presidential religious wacko.

I've been suckered, but I'm not sure if by a religious person.

I haven't but I FOUND out how the Kemetic Orthodox people get suckered by their Fuhrer, Tamara L. Siuda.

No, but I am frequently offended by them. My soon to be mother-in-law said that Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment on New Orleans because of "all the gays, blacks, and sinfulness there."

Does that count??

Yeah, as much as I hate to admit it, I used to give this cadillac driving pimp with slick hair money every week, just to hear him talk. I'm so ashamed!

Nope, I was wary of cultish groups early on in life.
