I own an Apple Mac PC, a Microsoft Windows PC and a Linux PC.
I prefer the Linux PC out of all of them due to its security, features, look, ease-of-use, great compatability, open source code (tons & tons of free software!)... and of course a great price (free). Ideal as a business desktop or server system.
Microsoft Windows is the least stable OS, and very insecure. Microsoft software is the only software that has been plagued with viruses, trojans, spyware and adware for many years now.Sure, people keep saying that Mac OS and Linux will get these viruses... oddly, each year passes and they remain stable and secure. It also lacks a lot of hardware support (try installing XP on a machine with a SATA hard drive and no floppy!) It suffers from "disk fragmentation" and severe "registy" problems. Overall, Windows is a patchwork quilt of 3rd party "add-ons" to help hold it together. On top of all that, all Microsoft software suffers from extremely prohibitive licenses. "OEM" Licenses, for example, die when your computer hardware dies, thus hitting the user with a "double-whammy". Definately the worst of the bunch... but there is a bright side! You can play more games on Windows :)
Mac OS X is great for video, film, graphics and any design work. You can generally do more with Mac OS X than with Windows. Again, its free of malware and pretty stable. It is free of the problems that Microsoft Windows has, and the price tag is lower too. Apple have also been around the longest, with Bill Gates stealing the idea of a "GUI" from the Macintosh system.

I own 4 computers all of which run Microsoft Windows 9x, or XP. If I were to start doing a lot of video or photo editing I would buy an Apple computer as they have the best software and capabilities for video and photo editing.
Bill Gates helped design the GUI (Graphical User Interface) and revamped the design from Apple and created Windows.

Hello. I'll share some things with you! I happen to have a Microsoft OS which has been working pretty well for me, though due to the popularity of Microsoft there are more bad things to watch out for. I like my OS pretty much and has done well for me. If I could buy another computer, I'd like it to be an Mac so I can do things more creatively with my wonderful photographs. I hear from my brother that Mac's are real good for artists. For that reason I'd like to have one, though of course that means I'll have to learn my way through it and figure things out enough to get by sufficiently. I would not mind; however, to have another tower of the same OS either. I've not worked much with a Mac, but it does seem a bit more interesting the interface. Good luck.

I've always had Microsoft... can't afford an Apple pc. And up until recently, more software was written for Windows.
Most of the graphic artist type people that I know swear by Apple though. It handles graphics much better.

I own two notebooks Sony and a Macbook Pro.
Currently, I use the Sony more and feel more comfortable downloading stuffs, but I feel safer with my Macbook Pro.
I am able to do more things with Windows than I can with my Mac. THe Mac is like my Mercedes Benz, simply park it in the garage to admire it, while my Sony is what I use to do my dirty work, which acts like a Chevy
