the pain could be from over use of the muscles or possibly disturbance to the sciatic nerve. Take a break for a day or two from walking and see if that helps. Also take a hot bath every night for about 30 minutes using 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts. This will relax the muscles and help reduce the pain.

If you do not feel better within a few days I recommend you see a chiropractor. They are the best for getting rid of these problems quickly and having you live without Pain . I've enclosed a link where you can find a chiropractor in your area.

The sciatica is definetly a sure thing when you have shooting pains down your legs. It is not uncommon to have it down both legs but not usually at the same time.

It has to do with the vertebrae down your spine. Usually it is the L4 or L5 and inflamation that is pressing down on your sciatic muscle. Look up symptoms of sciatica in your search engine.

The MD amy give you differnt kinds of things to help ease the pain. The first time I ever had this issue it peaked about 8 days later. That means it got worse everyday for a few days.

Once you have these problems once you are more likely to have it again.

The one thing I want you to know is that......... Once you have back pain a few times you need to see a neurologist and they can help you better. The MD want an MRI but that will only confirm a diagnois. You may have herniated disk but it can be treated especially if you find it early enough.

BTW, Pain after walking is definetly a symptom of sciatica.

Welcome to the unfortunate club of lower back problems. ha ha

I have had that problem for a long time now. Mine started during my first pregnancy and has never gone away. My kids are now 10, 9, &6. It's more likely than not that it is your sciatic nerve on each side of your lower back. If it gets pinched up, it does shoot pain straight down your legs. Very painful. A chiropractor can help a lot. I can't use one now because of bulging discs, but at the onset of the problem I did and it does work. (Bulging discs caused by car accident, not chiropractor!!!!) Ice also helps to reduce inflamation. Mine flare up when I walk a lot, too. Hope this helps!! Good luck!!!!

You may have siatica which can strike at any age. Is the pain a burning one? Walking should not make ur legs hurt unless u do it excessively. Make sure u are getting adequate dietary intake and rest. if problesm persists contact a dr. ..donalore

It sounds like you have either nerve damage, or possibly Restless Leg Syndrome. There are medications you can take for these, but I would go to the doctor and have an x ray or MRI to see if you have serious damage.
