You can rent them its just that most pedestrian car rental places don't want the liability of them since you'll do 50 ft burnouts since you paid for the extra insurance.
I've seen them rented in Vegas, and in Costa Mesa where the market will support them high cost of liability.

you can rent almost any car including lambos and any benz you want so i bet that if you looked hard enough you could find a gto to rent but it will probablybe as 5.7 litre instead of a 6.0

They are not made anymore. Most rental companies only rent new cars.
