When I was in 4th grade, I broke/fractured/chipped my wrist, just by falling off the monkey bars, and now, in 8th grade, it hurts. Only every 2-3 months does it hurt. It hurts for about 2-3 weeks. I can't put any pressure on it at all. I know you say it's just the weather, but if it is, what am I supposed to do in order to make it not so painful!?!?!

I've been to the doctor already, but they are going to set up another time for me.

It's kinda like a burning sometimes when it's real bad. But like I said, it's not constantly hurting. It only hurts every now and then and it hurts really bad for 2-3 weeks. It doesn't affect my fingers, just part of my lower hand and wrist.

you can try soaking your wrist in hot water for fifteen minutes when it hurts. this should relax the muscles and help you feel less pain. You can take over the counter pain reliever such as Advil three times a day to take down the inflammation.

If you continue feeling pain after this speak with your medical doctor about what to do to bring down the pain.

I've had years of wrist problems, they did get to the point I had to have an operation to shorten a bone in my arm - hopefully yours won't get that bad!

Whenever it hurt, the best treatment I found was a combination of anti-inflammatory painkillers (e.g. ibuprofen) and an icepack (those gel-filled wine chillers are fab if your hand/wrist is small enough to fit in one!).

Once that started not to work, steroid injections helped for a year or two. But hopefully, from what you describe, the pain wasn't as constant as mine so the painkillers/icepack combination should work.

If it turns out to be carpal tunnel syndrome, only opt for surgery as a last resort. I had it done a few years ago, and suffered nerve damage to one hand. And to add insult to injury, the pain of the CTS is still there.

Steroid injections are a less intrusive form of treatment, ask for this first.

When you fell you might've hurt your carpals real bad. So you might have CTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) Look up CTS on webmd or wikipedia to get more details. I have the same problem.
