There are many types of dessert ,
a dessert like in Namibia ,has the odd dessert lion,an antilope that does not need to drink, iguanas, scorpions ,millipedes, dessert rats ,snakes ,a specie of praying Mantis,Bushmen,Baboons, hyenas ,wild dogs ,and a wide range of root plants ,shrubs and trees

the USA has similar drylands classified as dessert.

the Sahara is more drastic ,scorpions ,pencil snakes ,lizards,

when it rains every 50 years or so there are short term ponds with frogs and fish (eggs lying dormant for half a century)

Australia has different desserts ,gila monsters ,snakes ,scorpions ,

The middle east different again .to many desserts to try and name the inhabitants

you must browse for a particular dessert and find out who lives there ,a lot of life tends to be nocturnal, hiding in the day

Antarctica is classified as an ice dessert, and they got Albatross ,penguins ,sea lions .most of the life is on the coast and in the surrounding sea

the North pole ,polar bears ,seals ,eskimos ,orcas and fish on the edges
