they pick at your typing, grammer and don't seem to understand what is being said. They take a question and twist it up by using words you never said to make a point that makes no sense. They us quotes from regular people that don't know what they are talking about and whose views are slanted by there twisted thinking. we all know there are those who don't believe in God now days but even neanderathals understood the concept of a supreme being, even if they made some up. The goal seems to be trying to ruin any kind of intelligent exchange of ideas. I have no problem with someone believing differently , that's their choice, but were's the intelligent conversation. The Atheists are always talking about our intelligence where's theirs? Most of us [I can only speak for Christians] have done extensive study on our faith. Some of us once believed differently also. We found that the Word of God answered our needs and changed our lives for the better otherwise we would have kept searching.

I think I pretty much have the responses of all that wanted to, some of you I sent emails others I couldn't so I will say this to all. I let people get to me today so unfortunately I gave them another bad example. My apologizes. I have studied more than just the Bible, and christianity, I was not always a practicing Christian. To the man who said he was once a pastor you picked only 3 of my past questions and misrepresented my intentions. I also questioned the practices of my own faith. I am not gullible, I question. I can understand frustrations you must have had in the politics of religions, but I follow Christ not organized religions. I alsonoticed there were not as many smarmy remarks, God is good. Again I apologize

I must be the odd atheist out. I recently asked a very civil question about the Bible, perhaps you'd like to answer it?

Everyone notices. And they get so mad when we mention this...

but while there are rude atheists, there are good ones, but all of the ones in this section have no other concerns but to take Christians down. Really, what else would they want to talk about in here? It's the religion section, and they don't have one. And I am also saying there are some extremely rude so-called Christians on here that have no concern for atheists opinions, only themselves. I really wish they would get some sense and stop posing as a Christian or they would just get a better church.

I DO VERY EXTENSIVE STUDY and many others do too. The only reason atheists and others don't think we do is because they refuse to believe our evidence proving God and disproving their theories.

We aren't allowed to share, silly rabbit. We get reported, thumbs downed, etc. And sorry, but no, a lot of Christians do NOT do extensive study - just reading the bible and taking it at face value is not extensive study. Further, we understand what is being said perfectly well. You can put your pity party to rest now - it happens equally to us as to you, and we don't whine about it. Much. Not nearly as much as the God lovers do, at any rate.

As for the grammar thing - it's really simple. If you want to look and sound intelligent, and get your point across in a salient way, then yeah, it's important. Little things like their, there, and they're, using capitals, using spell check and such are important. They make you look as though you have some knowledge of what you're talking about. If English is your first language, there is no reason in the world why you shouldn't be able to use it properly. No offense meant, but how am I supposed to believe in someone's words when they can't even spell them correctly?

You accuse athiests of having biased thinking - but so do Christians. You may have done extensive study, but what you studied is all based on a 2000-year-old book written by human beings in an age where the understanding of natural phenomena was limited. If the so-called "Word of God" answers your needs, that's great. It doesn't answer the needs of everyone, and the Christians (or any other religious fanatics) have no right to impose their beliefs on others who choose another approach to meet their needs. So back off!

Not all atheists are alike, some are intelligent and civil. Many on here are not though. They are childish and have nothing of value to share, so they do those things you said. I find it funny that many always say Christians feel threatened by them. That is an arrogant idea that just proves they believe themselves to be intellectually superior to those who trust in the wisdom of God. They are very self-righteous. I have great pity for their ignorance.

That's unfair. I've read many atheist answers that are serious and thoughtful. I've also read Christian answers that obviously had no thought content at all. There are jerks in every religion, believe me. But there are thoughtful people in every religion, too. You just notice the jerks more because those are the ones that make you angry.

Your believes are so strong, they are hurt by an intelligent challenge? Yes we are trying to provoke thought, not just you all patting yourselves on the back for the wonderful Christians/Theologians you are.

I just find it odd that many Atheist's have a greater knowledge of religions than the bible thumpers

Don't give them any ammunition if it truly offends you. Do not type without capitalization. Do not say anything rude about them. Just simply analyze, and they will follow suit. I get none of this hate mail, in my opinion because I try always to be fair-minded. They follow my example with me. Give them an example for you. And never preach, never say anything like "God is the truth and you will go to hell." That will only make them do the same to you...

Does the word "some" have any meaning for you? It seems that you are tending to speak in absolutes.

I can agree that there is a good bit of bashing given out here, but I think you'll have to agree that the quality of answers you've gotten from Atheist on this particular question are, for the most part, quite reasonable... and additionally they are intellectually sound.

Not all atheists are like that. I've noticed that it's a malady on both sides. If you read my profile, I am being brutally honest about myself. Some people just find courage in the anonymity afforded by being on the other side of a computer screen- not the other side of the issue.
