Jesus claimed to be the Son of God. (Matthew 26:63-64, as well as others)

WAS HE A LEGEND?
Two Possibilities:
1.) That Jesus never made such a claim because he never existed and was not a historical figure.

2.) He lived, but never made such a claim. This claim was put into the mouth of Jesus by his followers because they wanted him to be larger then life.

- If you believe either of the first two possibilities above then you believe he is a LEGEND.

Rebuttal:
To Possibility #1: The historical evidence biblical and extra-biblical is overwhelming that the figure Jesus of Nazareth in fact existed. The majority of historians agree with this conclusion.

To Possibility #2: This conclusion seems unlikely since these followers were willing to die based on the claim that Jesus was the Son of God.

WAS HE A LIAR?
You believe he made the claims but the claims were false.

Therefore, he was possibly making these claims while knowing they were false and thus making a deliberate misrepresentation of himself.

- If you believe this, then you believe he is a LIAR.

Rebuttal:
- If this is the case the Jesus would also be a fool because he was executed for this claim.

WAS HE A LUNATIC?
You believe he made the claims but the claims were false.

Therefore, he did not know his claims was false and was sincerely deluded and therefore was a LUNATIC.

- If you believe this, then you believe he is a LUNATIC.

Rebuttal:
- There is no evidence or claim of Jesus mental disability or delusion. The historical evidence (extra biblical) backs up the claim that he was overall "decent" and sound in mind.

WAS HE LORD?
You believe he made the claims and the claims were true.

Therefore, Jesus is LORD.

There are two alternatives to such a conclusion, either you reject or accept his Lorship.

So, again I ask, is Jesus a LEGEND, LIAR, LUNATIC, or LORD?

As I have demonstrated the most logical and rational conclusion is that Jesus is the Son of God.

rt66lt,
You are right in saying that just because it is unlikey doesn't mean it is true, BUT it does seem to be an irrational conclusion to make.

A MORAL PHILOSPHER?
And what is your evidence of his teachings or saying? The only possible evidence you have is the Bible. Therefore you pick and choose what you want to believe about what the Bible says about Jesus based on what? Pressuppitions perhaps?

Kathy P-W,
Then you believe he is a LEGEND.

I'd go with #2. Despite your claim of unlikely, that doesn't mean it isn't true. You claim doesn't make him a legend either, at least not by my definition. I believe him to be a great moral philosopher, but nothing more.

None of the above. I don't believe he existed. I think the writers of the New Testament invented him from earlier Pagan stories.
