Hi...so basically this is the story.
My parents went to work and I went to school and my younger brother stayed home from school because he "wasn't feeling well". Anyway the truth came out that he actually left after my parents did with his friends. The problem is he left the garage door open, didn't put the alarm on and didn't lock the door. My mom came home to find cash, jewlery, ipods, etc. missing (they may have gotten a bank statement too my dad hasn't physically been home yet and he said he has to check the places he could've hidden it). and the house torn apart. It could have been ALOT worse. But my parents are screaming at my brother saying that they'll never catch the robber. I don't want to ask them right now so I'm asking you...are they just saying that to scare him or is it true that the police will never find him and we'll never get our stuff back.

I wasn't here when my mom called the police but I asked her if they took fingerprints and she said that they don't do that because 1. it would only work if the person has a criminal record and 2. it's not like it's a major investigation.
But idk...something doesn't add up. She should be acting more upset about it but she only acts mad when my brother starts asking questions so I don't know if she's putting on an act as a punishment or what's going on...

Unfortunately, robbery is a crime that is often left unsolved. Laying so much of the blame on the shoulders of your somewhat dishonest and neglectful brother might be a little harsh, but it probably isn't wrong.

It could go either way depending on whether the perpetrators left any evidence behind. Most people do not get their stuff back because it is fenced ("sold") quickly and the criminals move on to other pastures. The police will check out their files to see if they have any very similar break ins etc. but odds are it was strictly random. An open garage door and no alarm is like an invitation to thieves...especially in an area where they might easily be concealed by shrubery, trees etc.

If you have close neighbors, the police will no doubt question them as to what if anything they saw or heard.

Wow, I am so sorry for your family. Burglary and home invasion are devastating, so that can have a lot to do with your mom's reaction. I bet a lot of her response is fear and anxiety that you guys could have been hurt.
It does seem a little harsh, but perhaps your mom is wanting to make an impact on the kid. Like 'scared straight' sort of tactic.
As far as catching the criminals and all that. That is a tough call. It seems highly unlikely. Unless the crooks took the stuff to a pawn shop they are not 'associated' with.
Sorry I cannot come up with a better answer.

Yes i did. Not a lot. But i really cried over my first boyfriend. But i got over the crying easily. But it took months to forget. Well, if you really loved that person you would cry. Thats like 2 years ago. And i didnt have a boyfriend after that. Why? I don know. I hate the loving then promises them being happy then arguments start then feeling down then breakup. So i said to myself if i were to be in a relationship again i wan it to be serious and full of love and happiness. But then, i date and entertain but after like a while or a month. I stop if i get the feeling it wont work. Hahaha im really a bad person right?

It depends on whether you have any serial numbers. When these guys pawn your stuff, they will run the serials against any stolen merchandise.

unless they left fingerprints or DNA, there is very little chance of them being caught
