I'm 17 and two months and I have completed drivers education, however I would like to know if being emancipated can make the process of getting my license go by faster. Because I know that when you are 18 you can go straight to getting a license without the hassle of a drivers training and all that.

The only difference that being emancipated will get you is that you will not need a parent's signature to get your license if your state requires that for under-18s. You'll still need to meet all of the other stated requirements for licensure.

You are still required to take drivers training and go through every step that a 17 year old would have to other than getting parental permission. I received my license in California at 15 due to court proceedings. I still had to take the standard drivers training with an instructor. That was a while ago though. Find out directly from the DMV as they didn't have that information on their website. Good luck

If you are an emancipated, you most certainly can get your license, providing the required documents. Your emancipation documents would be required, as well as the standard testing, etc. Being emancipated opens doors to your earlier, because you are considered an adult, and must follow adult rules. States may vary on their laws regarding drivers training, you would be best served by your DMV office.

Emancipated or not doesn't make any difference as far as getting your driver's license is concerned. What does make a difference is that you've taken driver's training. If your state will let you get a license now (before you turn 18), because you've taken driver's ed, go for it.
