My girlfriend's 18th birthday is coming soon. She lives far away where I live and I won't be able to make it to her birthday. Can anybody suggest me some gift ideas?

Roses are always a good idea.
Another good gift would be a gift certificate to a local spa. Pay for a day of decadent pampering, with facials, massage, the works. Tell her that you'd love to be holding and massaging her yourself, but since you are too far away, you will hire someone to do it for you. It is not a cheap gift, but it will knock her socks off. If you can possibly afford it, make it a gift certificate for two so she can take her favorite girlfriend along. That will rack up lots of points.

Since you live far away make her a blog/timeline telling her how much you care about her, include pictures of the two of you,and talk about all the great times you have had. I used http://ourstory.excellentabc.com to make one for my g/f and she loved it. It is free to do and you both can keep it updated and it would be a good way to leave each other messages since you are far away from each other.

as you live far away, you wont be able to surprise her or arrange a date or something. you can send her gift cards or something handmade, that could compensate your presence and maker her feel that you are near her. try making a collage or you can even gift her a personalised memory walk. well a universally pleasing present is an ipod. or something of that sort. however, if she already owns one, maybe u can get her some extra-nice speakers. its hard to say w/o knowing what kind of girl this is.
