if you are short on time then circuit training is the way to go.

Splitting your routine up 30/30 is fine. But don't over-exercise. Strength training is excellent! But you shouldn't do it every day. Break your routine up. If you work out five times a week, 3 days should be concentrated on cardio, 2 on strength and weights.

Your muscles need time to recover after an intense strength workout, and many people risk serious injury over time by not taking time to recover!

If you are short on time, and have done strength already for the week, definitely just do the cardio for an hour. But instead of just going at one level for an hour, do intervals. For example, do 5 minutes of walking followed by a 1 minute sprint - alternate for the hour. Or do 20 minutes of level walking, followed by increasing the treadmill uphill every five minutes after, ending with 5 minutes flat again. Interval training is the best at fat blasting and getting the most bang out of your time.

Best of luck.

you should try to do at least 160min of cardio a week, and do 3 days of weights/ weight training. For instance, I work out mon-fri and sometimes on the weekend if I can't get in over the week, or want to do extra. Mon, Wed, Fri are my weight days, they are longer, I do my weights first, abs and then do at least 30 min of cardio, however on the alternate days I do only abs and cardio. Only the days I do only abs and cardio, I do more cardio. Cardio burns that excess skin, fat and stuff you don't want. You don't want to overdo the weights, because you will become bulky and build muscle beneath what you need to burn off by cardio. I suggest trying to schedule 3 days of your week, which you make sure you do weights, the others just do your favorite cardio. However, abs you can do everyday. Unlike weights where you have to tear and repar, and give a days rest between lifting any sort of weights, abs are an exception, you can work those everyday!
keep goin!!! it will pay off!! I too have a tough time with consistancy and my schedule, but just gotta do what ya can!
best of luck!

Hi HCJ,
Extreme aerobic & cardio combined! Always check r cardio
rate (pulse) because you want to lose weight fast, I'm afraid that you may over do it. But, between u & I if you go or start to go to Clubs Downtown & really kick-up your heals dancing in a hot place, you'll lose pounds so quickly, "sweating" & all the sweat that comes out when you're moving in a vigours mode constantly is "Bad Toxins" coming straight out you. And 2nd of all you're having a good time! Xna the slow songs give it all you got moving all your muscles. Try that for 1 week, warm up before leaving the house, have fun and if this Club has a good D.J. you girl are going to have cloths sliding of you!!! You don't have to worry about $ for a drink, that's what the guy's r there for, ladies to dance with & to entertain you, just pick a Real Butt Shaking Place hope r single? And Go Girl, Go!!!! Make it fun!
Best of Luck,
Diana D

30/30 is PERFECT .. thats exactly what I do, how funny :)
it works great and im just the right amount of "tired" at the end of my work out. Good job on strength training! Not many people are motivated enough to do that, but it sheds the pounds faster than cardio alone. keep it up <3
