Fokker Albatross - Better handling than the Fokker Triplane and a match for any plane the allies used at the time.
P-51 - Best American fighter of WWII bar none. Competitive with any Axis plane, even the ME-262 jet. Still flying in races 60 years later.
BF109 - Served from Spain through the end of WWII; fast and powerful when it came out and served long and successfully. Even at the end of the war could duel with most of the Allied planes.
The "Zeke" - Shockingly good in 1941 when the war started. Served throughout the war and competitive with most allied naval planes.
MiG-15 - Surprised many NATO pilots in Korea and has had a long and illustrious career.
F-4 Phantom - The ubiquitous Vietnam-era jet. chalked up alot of kills, even if it stayed in service too long.

You do understand the Tiger develop into merely about 30 years after tanks were first advanced, perfect? similar with the P51 in words of the biplanes or perhaps the Wright Flyer in case you want to get fairly technical. So on that be conscious, the fighter plane or fairly the plane as an finished has advanced a lot extra right away than the tank.

Messersm. Bf 109.... 6 of their aces had over 200 kills. One of them, Erich Hartmann, destroyed 352 Russian planes. They flew, and racked up staggeringly high scores over North Africa, France, the Soviet Union, Great Britain, Poland, and, in the end, Germany itself. Two hundred aerial victories each. By comparison, the top U.S. aces of World War Two achieved twenty or more.
The P-Mustang was a better plane as well as the German Jets, but in overall kills, the 109 was superior. This is a hard question when it comes to comparing fighters, theGerman had a "fly till you die" policy, while the American rotated their pilots out after so many missions.

the gruman F/A-18E Super Hornet. In my opinion, the U.S. Navy has a much better fighter and aviation program then the AIR FORCE ITSELF!!
This is because the planes must be more durable launching froma catapult and landing with almost a fourth of an average runway. Also they must have larger fuel capacity but much lighter. The 18 has proved itself to fly beeter then the 15 and the 22.

The deHavilland Mosquito is one of the best for the time, early in WW II.
Fast, lightweight, long range and well armed it is often over looked, as fighter as well as a bomber
