I was looking for a site or something that could help with the viruses and infections in my computer. My computer is currently running real slow, even for dial-up, and says i have a few infections as such.

Okay, spyware isn't going to find and eliminate a virus, nor will antivirus find and eliminate spyware. What you need to have is a combination and they are all free. Avast 4-Home antivirus, SpyBot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware. The last two are a good combination of antispyware and anti-malware - what one doesn't find the other will. The last two are free from download.com, and Avast from Alwil. I'll give you the links. I've used all three for 3+ years and have had no viruses get past Avast. I run Ad-Aware daily and SpyBot weekly and keep the computer free and running more smoothly.

http://www.download.com/

After downloading & installing them, immunize the computer in SpyBot before running a full bot check. Remove everything it finds using Fix Selected Problems. Then run a full system scan in Ad-Aware and remove everything it finds.

Install Avast, and if you have Outlook or Outlook Express, it will protect your email. Then run a full scan, but don't scan anything but your hard drive. There will be no infections in your CDRom or floppy drive if you have one.

There are several other things you can do - one is download the best defragger on the market - Auslogics Disk Defrag. It's twice as good as Windows defragger and twice as fast. I use it once a month and it does help speed up your computer.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

You have malware installed on your system. If you follow all the following steps it should get rid of your problem and prevent future problems. All programs listed are free.
---------------------------------------------------------
Update your antivirus and run a full scan

If you do not have virus protection install:
AVG Antivirus 7.5 Free Edition
http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/avg-anti-virus-free/lng/us/tpl/v5
http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10669237.html?tag=lst-0-1
or
Free antivirus - avast! 4 Home Edition
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
or
AOL Active Virus Shield

---------------------------------------------------------
Install Windows Defender (full time spyware protection)
Perform a full scan.

---------------------------------------------------------
Install the following five programs and run weekly or at least monthly. You need all five. They are not a substitute for full time spyware and virus protection.

Ad-Aware SE Personal (update + full scan)

Spybot Search & Destroy (update + immunize + scan)
Do not enable Tea Timer and SDHelper
After installation: update + scan + immunize

SpywareBlaster: Update then open and click “enable all protection”.

CCleaner: Do not install toolbar and recycle bin options
Removes tracking cookies, unneeded files, history
In options.
Set to run when computer starts.
Place cookies you want to keep in save list
http://www.ccleaner.com/

Note if a scan detects a problem but is unable to remove, start the computer in safe mode with the internet line disconnected and run a full scan.

In severe cases your system restore files will also be infected. In these cases you will need to turn off system restore to prevent malware hiding in the system restore files and reinfecting the computer during removal or during a future system restore. Turning off system restore deletes the system restore files.

Right click on "my computer"> Properties > System Restore Tab > Check box turn of system restore

After the malware is removed turn on system restore.
