He does....It's just that there is evil in the world. He gave us the gift of free choice. Because of that decision, He cannot interfere when we make bad decisions, or that would make it so that we don't have free choice. Understand? Although it's really hard to think that way when you're going through a tough time....I can relate. God bless.

If There is a God why is there evil?
If evil were an object, we would be able to smash it. If it was a person you could capture it, and if it was a misunderstanding you can communicate with it, but if it is a mentality, then you can not do anything with it.
Now take some time to consider the fact that if evil is nothing, then the question surfaces what can you do with nothing? And the answer is: nothing.
And this haunts our thinking and we cognize that this evil, if a mentality, would be impossible to change, except perhaps through deep psychology.
So now we are at a pivotal moment, where we must analyze why this event takes place.
If it was coincidence, that in reality you can do nothing to stop evil, and through language you realize that that nothing is in fact a solid glimpse of Reality, making everything good, such that evil is truly nothing.
Now first off we will postpone the proof of this, but for now, we will talk about this linguistic trap. If it is referring to the absence of an object, it is not really pointing at anything. It is referring to it, meaning it is talking about it, but can't point to it because it doesn't exist. The error in our thinking comes from the fact that we mistake the word nothing with this imaginary substance, a concept that is materialized only in our minds. For it is clear that reality and nature are interwoven such that there is no place where you can say, nothing is. Even in an empty vessel you can still point to the vessel as something, so in the real world that human beings experience, there is no such thing as a metaphysical absolute nothing. However, in the mentality, it is quite different.
If a person says that he feels nothing, he doesn't mean that he can't feel, only that he can not feel another object. So he feels. Now consider this, if there is nothing preventing him from feeling, what stops him from feeling? If the answer, again, is nothing, then you have a trap. Nothing prevents him from feeling nothing. It is true, logistically and semantically, and can even be twisted around to make the two 'nothings' each an object in that sentence yet still a believable and rational concept. However, it restricts the mind from making proper judgment of the situation. If he feels, and nothing prevents him from feeling, he should not worry, for he feels infinitely. And in no other way, because if nothing stops him, what can possibly stop his feelings?
This metaphysical 'ditch' of nothing is a linguistical and semantic death trap that ensnares all language into a unbreakable idiom.

He does protect everyone. And when God's purpose for our lives is complete, God ends our separation from Him.
Acts 10:34
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Without God's word this world would disappear.
It holds all things together.
Is that protection enough?
People hate God, blame God, deny God and curse God.
How can He help if they do these things?
But he is merciful. 39 newborn babies survived the earthquake that hit Mexico in 1985.
For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

Not if you act stupid and go jump off a cliff.
This is as close as a vs. gets as far as having a "guarding angel."
Mat 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
"Little one's" can mean few in number as tallking about GOD's elect who are "few" in number. Their angels can get GOD's attention at any time.
