I'm working on designs for two shoulder-cap tattoos for myself, one with fern fronds (probably maidenhair) and dogwood blossoms, the other with a split pomegranate and ripe wheat. If you have advice and/or photos on tattoos incorporating these elements, I'd love to see them!

I have done extensive research in books, magazines, library catalogs, online, et cetera. I'm currently looking for direct info from folks who have these designs in their tattoos or have photos of them. Thanks!

I have tenatively selected an artist who has done some lovely cherry blossom work similar to the dogwood I'd like. I live in Austin, Texas.

Marie Wadman of Diving Swallow Tattoo is the only artist I've found with a realistic pomegranate in her portfolio. She's got some great dogwood work in there, too!

No, I don't, but Henry VIII's first wife, Catherine of Aragon, chose the pomegranate as one of her symbols because she was from Spain and it is in her badge. So you might want to check and see if you can find a picture of this on line. Look under Tudors, or heraldic badges.

You need to find some great photos and a tattoo artist who specializes in realism (or creative interpretation). I would do a photo search and find some cool photos. finding the right artist is difficult, where do you live?

They sell books of tatoos. You can even buy them at grocery stores where the magazines are.
