I'm 38 and my mom asked me to move in with her to help out with my dad when he was diagnosed with cancer. He's fine now, and everytime I try to move back out, she wants me to stay. But they are all in my business-what I do, where I spend my money, etc.

she can't force you to stay. hes better so you did what was asked and stayed to help him. you do not need her permission. go out and find a place. do not let yourself feel quilty becuz if you let it continue on, you will be stuck there longer than you will ever want and who knows how you will mentally and emotionally be towards your mom or dad.

Try to kindly tell your parents that you need a little space. Maybe you should start off by telling them you'll move somewhere near by. Then, after time goes by, you can move to wherever you want to live. Maybe when your living near your parents, you can just rent an apartment so the move won't be such a hassle.

Your mom is in fear of death honey. Sit her down and tell her you have a life and want to carry on with it. Make sure she realizes that your there for her when she needs you, but your a grown woman now and would like the respect of being so.
