What would Alfred Wegener say about the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004 and Mt. Vesuvius recurring eruptions in Vesuvius, Italy?

I don't know what he'd have to say. The principle of plate tectonics has nowadays been almost universally accepted. In his early time he was relentlessly mocked for suggesting something so preposterous.

Had the tsunami happened 100 years ago I guess he would have said it was evidence that supported his (at the time) theories, and would no doubt have been laughed at for suggesting such a thing, similarly with the eruptions of Vesuvius.
