I highlighted my hair, but my highlights are too yellowish-golden-orangy.. how can I get them to be lighter? is there any special shampoo or something that I can use to achieve a beige color on my highlights without messing up my base color which is a dark brown!?!

Please don't do the lemon sun thing!!!! You'll get blisters on your scalp.

Try using a blue shampoo. It sounds silly, but blue neutralizes gold/orange tones. Your hair won't turn green, but if you attempt a dye it might. Shampoo is the best solution (and safest). If it's any consolation, the orange will wash out and go a little more neutral in a few washes too.

The reason they turned out this color is you didn't leave the bleaching solution on long enough. Most people freak out when they see the orangy color and wash it off. You have to get past this color to get to the paler blonde shades. If you can separate your hilites again then add more solution and leave it on until you see the color you want.

Sounds like you need a toner. You can get those at a beauty supply shop. They help get the orange out and make the highlights even.

For an easy homestyle kind, you can put lemon juice on that strand and put it out in the sun (you can do this at the beach or something- Good SUmmer weather are happening)

uhmm this might sound really disgusting but i saw it on the style channel so it might work and it might not, i've never tried it...this is for like quick and easy touchups on your highlights, you can get like liquid cover up in those you know sticks and put it on your highlights. again i've never done this so i don't know how it will work out.

I would try getting a frosting kit and just put it on the strands that you want lightened.
