One huge difference is that Mormons are polytheistic and do not believe in the Trinity.

The Mormons believe that they are the restored Church with indifference to the fact that Jesus built one enduring Church with Himself as the cornerstone and the disciples as the twelve foundation stones for a solid foundation. Jesus said that He would be with His Church for all times and also that the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church. His Word further stated that the Church He founded is the "bulwark and ground of the truth". So in their proclamation that they are the restored Church that fell into apostasy makes a liar out of Jesus and puts into question all of His teaching. There is no teaching in all of Scripture and the entirety of Sacred Tradition that prophesies that the Church created by Jesus will fall into apostasy and be in need of restoration. It did not happen and never will as Jesus promised.

The Mormon religion is a religion based on logic. All of the truths that Christians accept on faith the Mormons have an explanation removing the mystery and adding to the Word delivered to mankind by the Son of God, Jesus Christ, causing confusion and preaching another Gospel.

In truth, there are few similarities between Mormonism and Christianity and there are several websites that compare the differences in teaching.

I must differ with Cristiglesia's statement about logic and mormonism. Having experience this cult for 50 years, confirmation of any of any doctrine is by 'feeling the holy spirit'. Given, this feeling is defined by the 'Burning Bosom', but by and large, there is no 'critical thinking' at any level within the mormon church.

Or great artwork, music, literature or philosophy. Mormon archaeologists don't hold much credibility with their peers elsewhere, but that's purely for economic reasons. BYU will fire your bum if your research disproves any of their dogma.

For a brief explanation of LDS beliefs go to www.mormon.org.

In short, We do not believe in the trinity. We believe in the Godhead. Doctrine and Covenants 130:22 "The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us." (Also see our fist Article of Faith)

Secondly, we believe that families are forever, and can be sealed through the priesthood.

Third, We believe in modern revelation.

1)Catholics believe in the Holy Trinity while Mormons do not.

2)Mormons consider the revelations of Joseph Smith to be right par with the Holy Bible, whereas Catholics consider the revelations of varios Saints down through the ages, to be private revelation, no matter how Holy they are.
