Speaking in tounges is not a sign of having the holy spirit. That was only a "sign gift" that was given to the early church. That is not a mark of salvation now days. God loves, and forgives but like Paul said in Romans 6:1 "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?"(NKJV) When Jesus Christ died on that cross he died for all your sins in the past, present, AND future...but that doesnt mean we should go out and keep on sinning as much as we can just because. Smoking and drinking in God's eyes are the same as ANY sin, because in his eyes no sin carried more weight than any others. So in God's eyes, drinking, lying, cheating, and murdering are all the same thing...sin. Sin cannot be passed off as anything else but what it is, no excuses. Now as for you going to hell, if you have ever reached a time in your life that you have relized that you are a sinner who deserves to go to hell, and believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to take YOUR place and have accepted him into your life then you are saved. Once you are saved you CANNOT lose your salvation no matter what happens, or what you do. I just want to leave you with one last verse that can be found in Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NKJV)

Anything that we put into our body that causes damage is a sin,

everything from Smoke, (I used to smoke)

too much alcohol ( I used to drink, and no I don't think the drink is the sin it is what I did when I had too much)

too much food (which I am guilty of and I do pray for strength about that just like I did the drinking and the smoking)

Drugs including weed is no worse than too much alcohol as far as doing damage to your body (if one is a sin so is the other).

I have spoken in tongues but it was 20 years after I became a Christian, and it was controllable (just as the Bible teaches) but I also prayed for that gift, not every one will speak in tongues and it is *NOT* at the receiving of the Holy Spirit. You receive the Holy Spirit as soon as you believe and are Baptized.

As for driving down the road with a cig and margarita in your hands, you may not go to Hell but if you live, you for sure should go to jail, I really hope you don't do that.

Smoking won't send a Christian to hell, but it will certainly get the Christian into heaven a whole lot faster.

The minute you asked Jesus to forgive your sins, you got the Holy Spirit.

Speaking in tongues is more about how much of you does the Holy Spirit have rather than how much of the Holy Spirit that you have.

If you kill someone in a car wreck the way you described, you might a spend a few years in prison before you get to go to heaven.

Answering this question we would run a thin line of being Judgmental and I do not want to do this, but I will say if when you do these things your conscience eats you alive then guess what? You might want to make a different choice. Some people can do these things and be okay I can't and for a lot of reasons. Drinking alcohol IS NOT A SIN! Jesus turned water into wine, and that's in the bible, but too much of anything is not good. as for the weed it is illegal need I say more?!? Cigs, just not healthy. But as for telling you if you are going to Hell or not for what you choose to do will send me strait there for judging and I an't about to go there. I hope this helps some.

Of course not. The Bible said that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and that we should treat our bodies in a healthy way. However, these things are not going to get you into hell, you may develop a disease or get sick prematurely. The reason why you slip up so many times, is because you have to allow the Holy Spirit to live in you and control your life. You can only have over coming power, through the Holy Spirit, who alone can help you conquer the fleshly nature. Love, be bless.

Once you accepted Jesus as your personal savior, you became saved by the Grace of God. Nothing can take that away from you. Not even YOU! You belong to God eternally. The moment Jesus' body was nailed to that cross and he gave up the ghost (gave his life for the remission of your sins), you became a new creature and were reborn in God's eyes. Your sin debt was paid in FULL.

DO NOT LET PEOPLE MAKE YOU ASHAMED OF YOUR SINS! WE ALL HAVE THEM.

Romans 3:23-25 (New American Standard Bible)

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

24 being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;

25 whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation (sacrifice)in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed;

YOU ARE FORGIVEN! You don't need a priest to tell you. You don't have to go to confession. You can know in your heart and mind right here and now that you are saved and forgiven by the Grace.

Temptation can be so...TEMPTING! That's why we pray, so that we may seek guidance and deliverance from those things that make it difficult to manage our relationship with God. Know that I am praying for your deliverance, and I pray right now that God removes that temptation from your life if it is in HIS will. I ask that he has mercy on your heart, mind, and soul, while giving you an overwhelming sense of peace and protection beyond all your understanding. I ask these things in His Son Jesus' name. Amen, and thank You God.

First, you dont have to speak in tongues to to be saved. Receiving the holy spirit does not mean that you will automatically have the gift of tongue.

Jesus drank... the bible says to drink, but not get drunk... you need to work on yourself to abstene from things that are ungodly. Use the will power that he has given to you and defeat it.

If you beleive in God then you must believe in his power, pray and ask deliverance from smoking and trust that he can take that taste out of your mouth. He did it for my mother a smoker, 20 years, 20 years free of nicotene.

I hate to hear people say they slip up from weed... walk away...

God understands that we are all sinners saved only by grace. Pray and repent and ask to be delivered... then wait. But most of all remember that God helps those who helps themelves.

You are not supposed to drink IN EXCESS, there are many instances of drinking Wine in the Bible.

As for smoking, your body is a temple, don't kill it.

Oh, and you can "Have the holy Spirit" without speaking in tongues.

You might do a read of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Hope this helps.

Good Luck and God Bless!

A fundamentalist should say yes...you are abusing your "temple of god" by smoking...if you continue to do so and do not turn away from the sin...you are unrepentant, and thereby going to hell..

I do not believe this...but, that should be the fundamentalist line...

buddy, it all comes down to where your heart is....you and God knows your heart...not me or anyone else.

Since you clearly don't have a clue what's going on in your mind, I suggest you stay off the weed for a couple of years before you try to make any big decisions.
