For - what is the problem with it?
One definition in the OED for marriage is: "join together; combine harmoniously" ... gay people can do that.

I'm against all marriage. It's unnatural. Why do I say that? Because the only constant in the universe is Change. Marriage creates problems by creating an unnatural permanency, such things appeared to have worked but only because the Church outlawed divorce, and because people would rather live in unhappy marriages than to break their word by divorce. Couples also too often stayed together for the sake of their children, which creates resentment, making the children just as unhappy as the parents. There have been a low percentage of couples that are happy together for the rest of their lives, but they are very much the exception rather than the rule and they could have done the same without the pressure of the marriage itself.

I'm not all that religious, but I must say that even if tomorrow I turned around and accepted Christ or Islam or anything, I would still say that to each his own, even if I personally disagreed with the practice. Who am I, or who is anyone, to call the shots in other people's lives?

Christianity says that homosexuality is wrong, therefore a Christian cannot be for gay marriage. Christianity also says a lot of things that most Christians ignore because it is inconvenient.

For, of course. People who want to make it impossible for gay people to marry who they choose are placing their own religious dogma above other people's rights to make their own choices. And they should be ashamed of themselves. Let's stop letting the fundies push their religious bs into our laws.

For it - why shouldn't same sex partners have the same rights as heterosexual partners when it comes to legal, health and welfare issues.
Funnily enough, most of the long term, committed, still working relationships I know are between same sex partners. If the commitment is the same there shouldn't be any difference.

For, just like I'm for interracial marriage (which was illegal in at least one state less than ten years ago). The only people who oppose it are immoral people who feel they have a right to impose their so called morality, and their religious beliefs, on others.

Im all for gays being given the exact same rights that any other person on this damn earth are entitled to.
Being against gay marrriage is a way to practice intolerance and hate in public.
