Personally I get over 10k per month but I am exceptionally good.
I seriously doubt that most do as well as I do, but I am sure that some actually do.
Pay is always dependent on many factors such as skill and confidence.
100k a year is probably doing pretty well as an engineer. Since you are asking instead of doing the research yourself you can probably expect 30-40k.

Nothing, if you can't communicate with others.
Depending on your discipline, level of experience, level of academic achievement, geographic location, and national currency, the number goes through a very broad range.
In India, the monthly income (before tax) might be as low as US$ 250. In the US, a better average number (for a new engineer) would be US$ 3300 before tax. For someone with 15 years' experience (in the US), the average is around US$ 9200 before tax.

Engineers start at US$4000-5000 per month. They can earn up to three or four times that with deep experience, a strong professional reputation, and a lot of work.
One of my college classmates started ProEngineer. He's a billionaire. So there is no real upper limit.

The salary for an engineer can vary a lot with your discipline, specialties, experience. location etc.
The best way to check would be a webiste that gives salaries.
