i'd give them a good chunk of money. i don't know about half because in my head i have already split up a $2mil winning among a lot of people (i daydream about that a lot haha). i have a list of people i want to give money to if and when i win the lotto, and they would most definitely be on the top of my list.

I would give them a gift basket from Bath and Body Works. Or maybe one of those cookie gift baskets (the ones where the sugar cookies are shaped and painted with icing to look like flowers). Pretty!
LOL, just kidding, of course.
I'd probably ask them what they want. I wouldn't want to give them $5,000 and have them think I'm cheap; but then again, I wouldn't want to give them $100,000 and give away a large chunk of my winnings when they weren't expecting anything!
I'd probably buy them a new car or pay down their mortgage or whatever they wanted, within reason. I'd do it out of gratitude and obligation, but mainly gratitude.

I would split the proceeds with my friend. After all, she gave me the ticket and could probably use the money as much as I can.
This would be done out of friendship rather than an obligation.

Wait....what are the total wins for this really nice friend?
if the friend won more than $2mil then I'd get them something not as materialistic - like throw a huge party or go for a private cruise or get a spa/travel package for close pals etc (which cost money anyway, but...)
if the friend gives you ALL the wins, then it's ok to assume this person does not need the money?

If my best friend gave me a winning lottery ticket, I`d give a new truck. I would surprise her! I`d put it in her garage with a big ribbon on it. I would do it as a kind gesture. But she would be the only one I`d give money to.

it would be a bummer, yet GEEZ! a million funds!?!? i might pay off my loan, commerce in my 13-year previous SUV on something extra reliable... oh wait, yet once I wasn't sufficiently previous to play the lottery, i assume i does no longer have a loan the two. Hmmm, if i became that youthful, i assume i might blow my funds on issues like a fancy new automobile, a equipped-in pool at my father and mom' homestead, a brilliant number of cool clothing, a huge exhibit television, a huge fish tank with a brilliant number of fish... stuff like that.

I'd be willing to split it in half with them after taxes, out of gratitude, if it was a close friend. Assuming that, when I mentioned it, they didn't get greedy and act like I owed it to them; under such circumstances, they'd get a token amount inversely proportional to the number of dollar signs in their eyes- since legally and ethically they're owed nothing.

At least 20% after taxes - up to 1/2 depending on the friend.

i would give my friend a house and give him money to pay any or all debt off. then take them with me to somewhere to work on our tans and drink our faces off. i would do this because of gratitude and the fact that my close friends and i have had this conversation and kind of made a promise that if one of us won the lottery we would all go somewhere together and buy our friends something really expensive if it was to happen.
